It was a whirlwind week for sure with Becca's parents in town. We were able to do and see so much but we still didn't have time to show them all the amazing things here so we have a list for trip two when they come back in the summer. We celebrated Charles's birthday, drove to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, hiked the Incline, shopped, and played. It was a great week and of course everyone was happy to see them since we hadn't visited since we moved in June. The weather held out nicely for the visit and they were even able to see the leaves before they start to fall.
We celebrated with a strawberry rhubarb pie.
Papa helped Corbin make a model car - it also helped his cub scout requirements.

There were elk everywhere.

At the top of one peak we got to stop and play in the snow.
Hunter's first bite of snow. He enjoyed it very much and continued to ask for more even when we drove back down. I have a feeling he'll have plenty this winter.
Enough said.
Corbin was a stinker so he was getting his turn.
We found a whole herd of elk grazing - what an amazing and beautiful sight.

We took my dad up the Incline - it is 1.1 miles straight up 2100 ft at a 40-68 % incline. The olympians use this hill to train.
Still going - it is crazy steep.
Parts of the trail are rough and slippery - not a good place to fall but Charles did great.
We made it! Now just 4.5 miles of switchbacks to come back down.
This does not even do it justice.

We wore Papa and Hunter out - they both fell asleep on the couches.
Hunter has really been fighting naps lately but the couch works wonders because he is still in the "action".
Hunter had stickered Papa's head before he fell asleep.
